• To provide the infrastructure development to provide post harvest facilities and market development.
• To develop the human resource.
Vision
• To be self sufficient in vegetable seed production by producing and marketing quality seeds of a wide range of crop variety.
• To earn foreign currency by exporting cashew, ginger and turmeric to the foreign countries.
• To cater the need for mango and flower requirement of this state through establishment of new garden.
Objectives
• Convergence of ongoing Horticultureal programmes.
• Horticulture for nutritional and livelihood security.
• Region specific approach for holistic development of Horticulture – including research, scientific crop production, post hatvest management, value additoion and marketing.
• Technology conceptualization, development and dissemination by integrating traditional and modern knowledge system.

Existing Infrastructure
One range office at Koraput headed by Deputy Director of Horticulture, 2 Branch Offices i.e.Horticulturist Koraput & Jeypore. Two departmental farms and 10 nurseries are located in different blocks to produce and meet the demand of the QPM of different fruit plants.
