LAND ACQUISITION
The Spl. L.A.O. has been notified by the Govt. under the provision of Land Acquisition Act. The Spl. L.A.O. acquires pvt. Lands for establishment/ construction of M.I.Ps/ railway lines/ companies/ roads/ canals/ buildings etc., on payment of due compensation to the parties. The L.A.O. tenders compensation to the displaced persons towards their rehabilitation and resettlement. He supervises rehabilitation and settlement programme in the field and any difficulties encountered are brought to the notice of the Collector for solutions.
The L.A.O. is invested with some statutory and financial powers. He disposes of objection cases on matters relating to determination of the amount of compensation pertaining to land, houses, structures and trees. He determines the market value of land, houses, structures and trees basing on the sales statistics obtained from concerned Registering offices. He causes preparation of acquittance roll for payment of compensation to the people whose lands are acquired on receipt of funds from Govt. and sends utilization certificate to appropriate authority after disbursement is made.
