            The power and functions of D.P.O. are as follows:

            Conducts G.P., P.S., Z.P. elections as well as bye-Election, Inspections of Grampanchayat and G.P. wing of the Block.  Attend to courts on election and bye-election matters on behalf of Collector.  Monitor auction sale of public properties like Ferry ghats, cattle ponds, pisciculture tanks, tops, weekly markets as well as supervision of public properties, G.Ps for proper function. Submission of reports and returns to the Collector as well Govt.. Holds price competition meeting at Dist. Headquarters, submits files for transfer of G.P.E.Os and V.L.Ws and other relevant files to the Collector.  He ensures submission of 100% of utilization certificate and expenditures, distribution of G.I.A. to Blocks and G.Ps when received, ensures to conduct P.S. meetings for fixation of minor forest products at Block level.  He is the D.D.O. of his Office.
