POWER AND FUNCTIONS OF TOURIST OFFICER, KORAPUT.

                                    Tourist Office, Koraput is functioning since 1976 under the Collector of Koraput. Due to non-availability of Govt. building,  it is functioning in a rented private building.

ACTIVITIES OF TOURIST OFFICER :

·                    Information and assistance.

·                    Giving approval of tourist hotels.

·                    Recognition of Travel Agents and excursion agents.

·                    Identification and survey of Tourism potentialities in the district.

·                    Arranges sight seeing tour through approved agencies.

·                    Sale of price publications, map of Orissa, Poster, Soul of Orissa etc.

·                    Guideline for establishment of tourism related projects.

·                    Organizes District level Quiz competitions and World Tourism Day on 27^th. September.

·                    Provides guide facility to the tourist.

·                    Supervises Hotel accommodation of the district.

·                    Recommendation to Govt. for development of tourism spot.

·                    Close liaison with other department Officers in the district and formation of Tourism Development Committee in potentiality area.

FACILITY FOR THE TOURIST :

            To provide minimum facility to the tourists, two accommodation Unit functioning  at Panthika, Sunabeda and Panthasala, Gupteswar. He is the D.D.O in respect of  his office.
